My Ercoupe is # 629 and recently purchased I had a problem with the
Goodyear brakes and need to change so send for the Cleveland brakes.
When they arrived, found out that they didn't fit "my Ercoupe".

Turns out my Ercoupe has landing gear from a serial # 813 or above. So

swaped out the Cleveland brakes for ones that fit. When the mechanic
went to put them on and checked the logs, he could find no notation
when
the different gear were installed -- logs only go back to 1978.

So now I have to get a 337 and field approval for the brakes that be
long on a #813 or above to go on a #629 serial number. Have AOPA and
EAA
(figure that's quicker that going to FAA) checking on all 337's for my

plane.

Anybody got any other ideas ?!?!?!?!
