This may stir up a sandstorm, but it is not my intent.....My question concerns not the amperage or wattage of the alternator (as I'm not sure which mine is yet!), but something I've been told about the 'coupe I recently bought. She is a '46 C w/a C90. The fellow in Texas who sold her to the guy I bought her from had all the work done but never turned in the paperwork for the conversion, although I understand he flew her as such....I have the paperwork, so that will get done. Now, long story done....he installed a switch cutting out the alternator after she was warmed up and ready for TO...supposedly adding 5-6 HP to the TO power ( that could work ), and then he would turn the switch back on at altitude. Is this a legal mod? Should I remove it during the restoration or can I cover it with a STC or 337? Any advice is welcome..............Thanks, Cliff --------------------------------- to unsubscribe send mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ____________________________________________________________ T O P I C A -- Learn More.
