I think the situation is mis-understood... Volts X amps = watts 750 watts = 1 HP 12 volts X (Even) 50 Amps = 600 watts...not even a 1 HP loss in available power.... I think it foolish to be so concerned about the loss of theoretical 1 HP...even if the Alternatior was charging at the full 50 amp rate.
