Hello all, I recently purchased 3675H in LA. and have it hangered there until I can fly it home up north. Several months ago my brother in law flew my coup on a x-c from LA to his home in Texas, about a two hour flight. On the return flight to LA and thirty minuets out of destination he developed oil pressure loss. After advising DeRidder FSS of possible emergency and saying many prayers, the oil pressure continued to drop. On final, the pressure neared 10 psi. After landing, the engine oil was down two quarts and a nice oil slick found on the left side of the coup. My brother in law is sure that he tightened the oil cap on before taking off. Has anyone experienced the oil cap coming off in flight one and one half hours or longer after takeoff? The A&P has checked the engine for other possible oil leaks without results. I've delayed the transport of my coup until we can answer this concern. Any comments are welcome. Thanks in advance.
