That may be the case, but you probably don't have an oil cap whose
'ears' have worn thing, whose spring is tired, or whose gasket is
too thin, the wrong one, perished, or just plumb missing.

The real question is, 'does the oil cap snug down firmly (not real tight
so as to require any appreciable force, but with a good solid friction
fit)?

Solve the problem and fly the plane.
