Scott:  You can also use a product called PRC 980-B, or ChemSeal, which
is an 
approved fuel tank sealer. It is available through your local aircraft 
supply, or Aircraft Spruce, etc. 
Clean the areas thoroughly, after draining the tank, mix the sealer
according 
to the instructions, and apply liberally to the seam/rivet/leaking
areas. 
This stuff sets up in about 24 hours, and is a permanent seal/repair
Wear protective gloves, because it is hard to get off your hands. I know
you do not want to remove the tank, but I have found leaks on header 
tanks that are on the top, or upper seam, and the fuel drips off the
bottom 
after running around the tank to the lowest spot. Gravity, you know.
