It depends on the wing if it is a wing that was metal clad after it left
the factory it could go back to its original condition with out a problem.
If it is a latter metal wing built that way at the factory I would want to
get the FAA to sign in blood on the 337 before I removed the metal skin.
It
is a very good idea and it is the best way to do a good inspection of the
wing structure and to be sure it is properly corrosion treated before it
is fabric covered. Good luck. Do remember that it takes a 337 to recover a
wing even if it is a fabric wing to start with.

Best regards,
Vern

Does anyone know if there is an FAA approved procedure to change a fabric
wing on a 46' to metal?
