Scott N2679H was metalized a long time ago. I do know that I sure miss those 40 lbs of payload. You might see about a trade with someone who wants a fabric airplane - they are in demand. That seems a better solution than doing the metalization yourself. Perhaps you could find someone who wants to swap wings. It is not that hard to do. I have to assume your fabric is in bad shape so finding someone who can cover the wings themslves might be an option.
