Stephen,

As to starting, I prime two or three times, , then leave the primer "out",
so
I can slowly push and prime additional fuel as the engine starts to run,
keeping it running ...- only takes an additional prime or two, before the
manifold warms sufficiently to vaporize the fuel... Also just barely open
the
throttle - I use about 1/2 turn - equal to about 1/8 " if you have a lever
type throttle.

There is a lean spot in the carb about 1000 - 1300 RPM - normal, but
annoying
whith a cold engine..... clears up when the engine is up to temp...

As the Stromberg carb on the coupe does not have an acceleration pump that
squirts fuel into the manifold on acceleration , this is normal, just
open
the throttle slowly......

Fly Safe - Have Fun

Regards,

Harry
