The two brackets are each a straight piece of metal coming from some other part of the engine and meeting at the gascolator. I seem to recall they connect just between the gascolator and the short tube that connects it to the carburetor.
The AD calls for two (2) of these braces which therefore create a V to prevent the gascolator from vibrating differently from the rest of the engine. Sorry I can't remember the AD details. I have also met and talked to people who's gascolator fitting broke and lift them in a glider with fuel gushing from the hot engine compartment. I do take this one seriously.
