To you guys who think the FAA always knows the only proper way to fix things:  It is not whether or not it is a approved or unapproved repair that determines how good it is or there would never be any ADs issued. these people make mistakes also; It is the intelligence,caution, and understanding of mechanics, of the individual repair person. There have been many a excellant expiremental homebuilt made without the great blessing of the FAA gods that are still flying great, built by intelligent qualified builders, and they can fly over my house any time, . Just my opinion. Ron
