Hey guys, lets not loose track of the real issue here, this is not about who has the "Official" page. That can only come as an extension of the EOC and I for one have no idea what Skips plans are for developing one. Who knows Ron may be able to get Skip to take him up on his offer for web space, didn't work for me but then I'm not a professional at this and Skip may well want a more professional approach. He also may want to have an official site and not want to bias things with a site not intended to be "official". I originally called mine Dave's Ercoupe Page simply because it was my own effort and had no plans then or now to be the "official" site. Just to be a site where you can get info and have some fun. Now Jack, I don't remember ever getting an E-Mail from you with any questions, I've seen many of your posts with questions and may have thought your message was a posting to the Coupe Group and not one directed at me. Sorry about that. It is a problem with this newsgroup, someone can easily miss a message directed at them and think it's just a general posting, solution- make sure they know it's directed at a specific person.
I really hated the statement by Ken Doyle that some Coupers might feel "unworthy" of promoting himself or plane. Come on Ken, this is not about promoting yourself it's about locating other Coupers out there you can meet of swap lies with or even bum a ride with. Remember a low time pilot with a ratty old Coupe is still head and shoulders above the higher time pilot who strolls out of the FBO with the keys in his hand to the what ever he just RENTED. The owner of anything that flys is someone who should hold his head up.
As said before and for the last time, support whoever's page you want to, but do it. Provide that person with your input, tips, pics etc. None of us can do this alone and our pages are only as good as the participation we get from others.
The same goes for this newsgroup, get involved, stop lurking, voice your questions or opinions. Tom Laird went to a lot of trouble to put this together and it can never live up to it's full potential if you are lurking out there, get involved.
