I have seen one example of this happening on an Ercoupe using a smaller than normal ID fuel line from center tank to carb.....(from firewall filling to carb). I don't remember just what the sizes were, but it seems the flexible hose would stretch over the fittings, (even tho small ID.)
With the smaller than required ID, the gravity fuel flow was too little to keep the carburetter full, at full throttle. A proper sized hose fixed the problem. Check specifications as to the proper size hose. As I remember, it was an exciting time around the pattern - the engine would run at about 1700 RPM or so, and he was able to kleep it in the air around the pattern and land safely. Bigger hose fixed the problem... Fly Safe - Have fun Harry Francis 93530 BCB
