Read your message on the conversion from a C to a D model. I'm new
at
flying Ercoupes so could you help me on a couple of points.
By reviewing the list of changes it appears that my coupe
has had the conversion. However can't find a reference in
the log books, (I don't have all log books). I do know that
the engine was changed from 75 to 85, the S.S. upper skin of firewall
was installed and that's about all I'm sure of.
What I would like to know is were do I find the rest of the
info to verify or make the correct change? Also, legally,
what do I do to make this change, (Any type of inspection,
government forms, etc)?
Thanks:
Jack

The only way I know you can legally fly at 1400 gross weight is to
have a
licensed mechanic inspect your plane to Aircraft Spec A-787 and then have
him enter the inspection in your log book showing the conversion from
mod-C
to
mod-D has been done. Univair in Colorado holds the type certificate for
this modification. They can provide you with a sample Form-337 for it.
I am keying the Coopers mailing list with this mail, maybe someone
else
has a better suggestion. Good luck.
