Hello Coupers!

I am new to this list, and I tried to post this question once
before. Since it didn't appear on the list, I will attempt it again.
Once again, thanks to Jack in NC for helping me get started on the list.

My question is in regards to approach speeds. I have been recently
checked out in a 415C with a C85, and was told to fly final approach at
80 mph That seems a bit high to me, and is confirmed by having to use
a lot of real estate down the runway prior to touching down. I would
think that 70mph would be more appropriate. What does the group think?

Also, I would like to know what list members are using for best
glide speed, as well as Vy. The POH that is available for the coupe
that I fly (it belongs to a fellow that owns 3 airplanes, but does not
have a pilot's license, so he asked if I would like to fly it! A guy
has got to do what a guy has to do I guess!) is very spartan to say the
least, and I would like to know as much as I can about this bird. Are
there any books devoted to Ercoupes out there that I should know about?

I look forward to participating on the Coupe list, as so far it
seems to be full of some very nice people. Just hope that this posting
gets out there!

Regards,
Jeff Orear
