The engine you guys spoke of was the Franklin. A SC company was trying to get things going, but never could. Rest assured that if someone had an STC for a conversion, it wouldn't be unsafe to use in normal situations. The 100 hp engine in the coupe is a good one, but many folks think that an airplane is like a car, more hp, faster cruise. Not so. The biggest plus is the climb, and there are many days that I would have liked to have the extra 25 or so hp to get my fat ass off the ground. I cruised with the big boys, and they never passed me by much. opening the windows is great and the only way to fly. Unless I poked my head into the slipstream, I never lost a cap or headset. Al
