Re your interest in an ercoupe project; I found an Alon last Sept and I am very pleased with it. I have one friend with an Alon and a couple with ercoupes, and every one is pleased with their plane. The ercoupe will generally require a little more maintenance up front just because of the age, but parts are readily available. I got an Alon because it is younger, has a good 90hp engine, has a sliding canopy vs up&down windows, and has a
lower step into the plane (wife appeal). I was lucky to find one as soon as I started looking, but I see them advertized in Trade-a-Plane, Coupe Capers, and on the net. I think there are several people currently looking for Alons. Mine came with the old Mark 12 radio--minimal value--so I am using a handheld radio and a Garmin 195 for nav purposes. You will find that the more you fly without too many gadgets, the less they are needed to have fun in a coupe. Let us all know how your project goes. K. Doyle Springfield, Mo [EMAIL PROTECTED]
