Glen,
The Ercoupe is not an inherently unsafe airplane.  No more so than any other
airplane, in fact, less so in many regards than most.  Several people have
given you the clue that you made an error as a pilot.  Probably came in too
fast or didn't flare at the right time and landed nose first which set up the
oscillation phenomenon.  At any rate, there are enough pilots on this list
with a lot of hours in Ercoupes and none have identified the Ercoupe as an
unsafe airplane and, especially, none have discussed it as prone to
oscillation upon landing.   I never had that problem with mine either. The
fact that you reported your accident to the list has merit as a reminder to
us all to be aware of our landing technique and skills and we all should
thank you for that.  Hey, it happens.....just accept it and let's move on!
Forget the harassment, shake it off.  But, for your own sake, be sure to
search your soul and if you need to review your skills, do that with an
instructor to get feedback!  Good Luck with your new T-Craft, it's also a
cool  airplane.
Jim
