It's pretty easy actually. While most stainless steels are non-magnetic, as is aluminum, SS is also much, much, much, much, much tougher than aluminum. (Was that enough muches?) I don't know if this is possible (or prudent) but would there be an out-of-the-way, non-critical area you could scratch with a small steel pick, or something like that? If it scratches easy, it's aluminum. MD -----Original Message----- Rick, I didn't answer that part of your question because I don't know the definitive way to tell aluminum and stainless steel apart. Ed Burkhead N3802H, Ercoupe 415-D Peoria, IL -----Original Message----- Rick. It should be obvious as the original aluminum skin is one piece from the firewall back to the windshield while the SS skin is just wide enough to fit between the rivets from the firewall back to the first station. Of course a magnet will tell you quickly also. __________________________________________________ To unsubscribe from this list please send mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ==^================================================================ EASY UNSUBSCRIBE click here: http://topica.com/u/?aVxiLm.aVzvvT Or send an email To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] This email was sent to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] T O P I C A -- Learn More.
