Hi Fred, Don't have all the answers but will give it a shot: 1) I have fabric wings. They are lighter. Both fly just fine. I woulndn't opt in or out of a coupe because it has/ doesn't have metal wings. Likewise with rudder pedals. 'Tain't that bigga deal. 2) Not that I know of. 'Coupe flies 100-110 with either one. 3) Again, most that have metal wings have had them for years. Should be no difference to speak of. 4) Depends on what your weekend consists of.... All I can tell you is my Dad and I both weigh over 200 pounds, fly out of a 3500' elevation airport just fine. Just not with a big bag of goodies to boot! For 2 "normal size" persons, a weekend getaway is entirely do-able if you stay in a motel. Just saw the handle off your toothbrush. If you intend to camp out, get a nice Cessna 182! Mine barely holds all the camp crap and beer we carry for a weekend! Hope ya get a coupe. I fly C-182 and 206, but the 'coupe gets the nod for sheer flying fun and short hops. I flew Boise-Seattle non-stop in the 'coupe, 3 hours, 45 minutes, a bit low on oil and long on bladder fluid on arrival but enjoyed the trip. (I stopped 1/2 way on the trip home...uhhhh... needed some oil........... :-) John Barsness Boise, ID >>> Fred Zickrick <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 11/19/01 07:25PM >>> ----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- All other things equal: 1. Are fabric wings more trouble than metal? 2. Is there any performance advantage to metal wings? 3. How much of a price difference is there between metal/fabric wings? 4. Can Ercoupes carry enough for a long weekend for two or are they just day fliers? It's been 20 years since I've seen one and there may be one in my near future. Be a Lamp unto Yourself.
