I would choose to obtain the fabric covered wings if given a choice. Either would be fine, but the fabric wings tend to look a little better and probably fly a little better, though I am not sure one would really notice. Certainly there is no performance advantage to metal. In today's market one must be careful to get a good Ercoupe plane and they can be had with metal or fabric. The fabric ones seem to be somewhat preferred by the long-time Ercoupe plane flyers.
