<<What do you other Alon drivers think about the CG issue?>> I plan to have my plane weighed and get a new weight and balance form made up after the baggage compartment kit is installed. I plan to do this partly because of the new kit, and partly because the plane hasn't been weighed since 1966. I've also found math errors in the revised weight and balance
forms on two of the three planes I've owned, so I don't really trust the current weight and balance paperwork to be accurate. A mistake on an old weight and balance form gets rolled into any subsequent forms. As far as the CG goes, if you put 75 pounds in the original (small) baggage compartment, and compare that to 75 pounds centered in the extended baggage compartment, the arm of those two weights is going to be different due to the different location. Seems to me that you would have to compensate for that change on your weight and balance calculations (or chart). I wonder if the A-2A weight and balance graph in the POH is different from the one in the A-2. Seems like it should be. Anyone know?
