It is a shame that people who share a common interest cannot get along with one another. I guess this is why human beings have continued to have wars and kill and mame each other for centuries over God and other stupid reasons too numerous to mention. I think Leslie had the right idea when she started an ALON ONLY chat site. <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Although the site is quiet due to the 250 Alon owners not knowing about it, it has lacked the infighting of this group. I, for one, no longer respond to ANYTHING that I do not send out myself. I turn 71 this year and I am not interested in bashing anyone. The Sunday Triva is History. It will only appear on the Alon site. I want flying to be FUN in my remaining years on this beautiful planet. NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS The ALON baggage sales have reached an astonishing 31 units due to our direct mail program headed by Wayne DelRossi! (Wayne and I have borne the entire expense for the mailing). This has caused UNIVAIR to have to go back into production and build 17 more kits from scratch. (Most of the parts for 14 units were already in stock) The president of UNIVAIR is scheduled to call me on Tuesday (1/18) after he returns from (another?) vacation to address this. UNIVAIR has forwarded me one set of blueprints for the installation of the kit. For the most part, it appears that the bulkheads need to have reinforcement plates installed along with braces to hold the floor. The bulkhead at the rear of the back window needs a plywood access cover as well. In reviewing the blueprint with my AP/IA, I suggested that he LEAVE THE HAT SHELF INTACT. Leaving it intact would still allow me to stash my briefcase there, which holds all my maps and paperwork. It would also keep the unsightly baggage covered and out-of-site from onlookers. He felt that since the factory installed the hatshelf and the extended baggage compartment does not disturb this original installation, it would be no problem leaving it intact. I intend to do this when my kit is installed. You might want to address this option with your AP/IA if you like the idea. It is FREEZING COLD here in Delaware today. There is ICE on the lake. The bird is going to stay in the hangar! George Frebert
