Hi all,

This is a good topic to bat around. As most of you know most of the engine
wear occures on startup. The faster you get that oil into the engine the
better off it is. This is the prime reason for preheating in the winter.
If
you spin the prop prior to startup you deffinatly will get the oil going
in
the right direction. And on startup you will see the pressure come up
faster
than if you did not spin the prop. I do this every time I start my engine
for the first time when I fly. I will check throttle back, mags off and
then
alittle prime. Spin the prop about 8 to 10 times, untie the tail get in
and
it fires up in a couple revolutions. This is also good for the expensive
starter. It works less. Oh and did I mention to do this with the "TAIL"
tied
down!! These little things can add many hours to the life of your engine.
