Jack,

I had the McCauley prop on N99590 repitched last week as well as
overhauled
since it's face was pitted and edges had a few dings (I know how it
feels).
Anyway, I had verified that my old tach / prop speed was off by nearly
100RPM. A digital RPM meter showed 2275 and the inplane tach showed
2375RPM.
The prop was a 7150 (cruise prop).

I had a prop shop in Hemet, CA. repitch it to 7148 (combo ) and I picked
up
nearly 90 RPM so there is almost no difference in tach / digital test
meter
reading now. I also got nearly 150RPM +/- more at max static RPM. I
haven't
flown with it yet since I am going through annual but it seems much more
vibration free as well. I understand that this should improve climb and
not
have any measurable effect on my cruise speed. We'll see !!!
