----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- Congratulations!!!!!
I've never had a vacuum gauge -- I've only flown with one once. My so very vague memory was that suction should be 4-5 psi. Let's let this stimulate someone who REALLY KNOWS to give us the correct word. For the electrical usage, my Coupe only has a 20 amp generator. It's been enough for my flying, including night flying. Simply add the rated power of the items and compare it with the generator output. My 20 amps is plenty to run the position and collision lights while starting the engine at night. The battery can run those things and the two landing lights during taxi and supplement the generator during the high rpm take-off and departure from the pattern. Similarly, the generator and battery handle the approach, landing and taxi in to parking just fine. I've heard once that you're supposed to have enough generator to handle the full drain of all electrical equipment running simultaneously. I've never seen confirmation of that. With everything running, my 20 amp generator discharges slowly. Two hours of pattern work may run down the battery some, but I've never gotten too low for operations. For that last regulatory issue, I hope we both get a definitive answer.
