I have the non-permanent push to talk switch on my original yoke.

The cord is long enough I routed it nicely to a position down and to the
right of the yoke's shaft. The last couple of feet of the cord is the
spiral portion and it extends from the bottom of the panel to the yoke
with no problem. I can turn the yoke to its full range with never a
conflict from the cord.

This places the switch at my left thumb, just where I want it. I angle
it rather much downward. If I put some pressure on the switch as I
stretch the velcro strap around the yoke's tube, it holds forever. It's
hard to describe -- try it a few times and you can get a good, durable
mount with no damage to the original yoke.

(Note: I normally fly with my hand at the balance point at the top
center of the original yoke's curve. With this, I get less (or no) yoke
movement when turbulence gives my arm a sudden 2g load.)

I REALLY like having the switch on the yoke. During times when I most
want to transmit, my right hand is very often busy doing something.
