Harry, My coupe has Alclad stenciled on the interior side of the skin.
Alclad is an aluminum alloy and that is coated with a very thin coat of
pure aluminum to protect the alloyed material from corrosion. I imagine
that with enough polishing, one could remove the pure aluminum coating.
However it should not reduce the stregnth by anything but a very minor
amount. The cladding does not have to be removed to get paint to adhere.
Oxidation will occur to the pure aluminum but at a slower rate than with
the
alloyed interior. Nice visiting with you at Sun-n-fun.
