Well, my one experience with a CFI in my coupe was an 19 year old CFI I had just spent 3 hours with in solid IFR. When we got back, I offered him a ride in the coupe the next day, which he took me up on.
I spent maybe 5 minutes going over the unique parts of flying a coupe, we went up and around the pattern and he landed it absolutely perfectly! Actually did a better approach than I do (and I have since adopted his technique). So just because they are young and coupe-inexperienced doesn't mean they aren't going to be able to pick it up darn quick. Just my 2 cents. -Tom
