Howdy, all -- Well, the search for my dream 'coupe continues. I've got what looks like a pretty serious candidate, and would really like your comments.
I don't have all the stats so far, but here's what I know: - 415C/D - Ceconite wings, swiss cheese AD done - An 0-200 with less than 300 hours since rebuild - Cleveland brakes - Everything on the panel I'd need and more; DG, VSI, glide slope, turn coordinator, radio with intercom, a nice mounted Garmin... - Ram horn yokes - Dual fork nose - The rudder has been rebuilt - Two-control - Original seats - Bubble windshield (not what I'd pick, but in good shape) - Green-tinted canopy (I'd prefer clear, but I figure that's pretty cheap to change) - New tire on the nose - Rudder has been rebuilt - Paint job in good shape. Not a color scheme I'd pick, but it's OK-white with blue & black strips & black Ercoupe logo. There's some rough paint on the belly, not bubbling, just looks like something wasn't fully smoothed before repainting. It just came to my home field, is hangared now and has been before coming here. I'm going to have my A&P take a look a long look at it; I have Ed Burkhead's pre-purchase inspection form & have reviewed the ADs. Will start all the title, accident/incident paperwork searches, etc. tomorrow. OK, now what do I have to do to learn to fly it? Do I need a CFI with time in a 'coupe or what? Who do y'all recommend for insurance? And, finally, I'd love anyone who's close to Connecticut & might want to come visit to come have a look at her. I'd be happy to feed you for the kindness, and we have 80 avgas on the field. Anyhow, as always, thanks a million for all your help.
