Hi, I've been using Courier IMAP for around 3 years now, but when it was originally installed I couldn't get it to see the Fam installation, so it's been running without it. Now with 300% more experience under my belt with Linux/Unix, I'm going to give it another shot as I'm building a new IMAP cluster for a few hundred users.
A couple of things are swaying me away from Fam at the moment: 1. Firstly, the latest version was released in November 2003 - there doesn't seem to be any further development on it. 2. I've read a recent post on the list about some experiences with Fam that have been fixed using Gamin. After a quick scout on Google I cannot find the project page for Gamin, except a few debian packages, but we're using a mix of Redhat and FreeBSD systems. What I'm asking is: Where can I get Gamin? Is it production-quality/proven/reliable? What are the recommendations over the Fam/Gamin choice? Does Courier IMAP build successfully using Gamin instead of Fam? Thanks Andy. -- Andy Shellam NetServe Support Team the Mail Network "an alternative in a standardised world" ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
