My authldaprc does not have a valid LDAP_HOMEDIR (even though it says it MUST), so is that the issue? Why does this machine need one if there is no delivery on it?

The main thrust of my authldap is to allow me to to multiple lookups to find the user, and then to build the user's auth info from the set of ldap objects found during the lookup. Contact me if you want a copy. I would be very happy to get another pair of eyeballs looking at it.
Warning Will Robinson: lots of code that only I have tested... this code probably causes cancer in lab rats.
