etc/aliasdir/.courier-* is the last resort, but the code never gets
executed this far. What are the contents of your etc/authmodulelist
and of the variable authmodulelist in etc/authdaemonrc, do you have
mail1.americasnet.com listed in etc/locals or anywhere else ?

At least as long as they exist in authmysql, what about nonexistent
users, are you able to mail 'daemon' manually, do you get a 550 for
user 'qwertzuiop' ?

next steps would be the output of authinfo, and the response of
'authtest [EMAIL PROTECTED]' or 'authtest daemon'
