Its not up to me to accept the patch, but I can see why you want it. In my opinion its not necessary, but if you insist your users are this ignorant I cannot argue.
It's not about user ignorance. Computers are supposed to make our lives easier, not make us jump through hoops. I won't waste user time with a protection that can be trivially circumvented. If courier's mailing list manager were popular, do you really think that all malicious autoresponders won't be adding "yes" to the subject line five years from now? At that point is Sam going to make us type "yesyes" instead?
It's my server and my mailing list. I don't see why the list software can't allow me to make the decision about weather this feature is useful.
