Maybe I'm missing something, but can't you do exactly that? Set up the [EMAIL PROTECTED] account and have it /dev/null all messages that get delivered to it. You still have to accept all the mail (which is annoying) but no one will ever see it and none of it will ever bounce. (Have I missed some other piece of this thread?)
