Hello All,
I have migrated our office months ago over to Thunderbird using courier-imap over postfix. I am having some problems with subfolder and shared folder access and need some help.
I have all of our users set up as virtual users inside a LDAP backend, all of the users mail is stored under a /mail directory and it's recursively owned by mail:mail.
The first problem is; For the users own IMAP mail (under INBOX.*) some of the folders are not always accessible when clicking on the folder in Thunderbird. No error comes up in Thunderbird and the folder is blank. The owner ACL is basically everything as when I do properties on the folder I have 'Read, Write, Insert, Set Read state, Delete, Create subfolder and Administer folder' privledges. I have selected the check folder for new messages check box and the number of new messages (denoted by a bold number in rounded brackets) updates but I can't see the messages.
The shared folders exhibit the same symptom whereby their contents are not updated for viewing. The ACL's reported to Thunderbird (checked by properties on the folder) show are 'Read, write, Insert, Set read/unread state and Delete'. I can get an error out of Thunderbird only when I frist subscribe to a shared folder which complains about not being able to administer the folder - 'Access denied for GETACL on shared.internal.admin (ACL "a" required). Thunderbird also shows the folder under properties to be a personal folder and not a shared folder - Im not sure if what thunderbird thinks it is will matter or not.
Apart from this my courier-imap installation is so far working great and has been very stable, all I need to do now is sort this issue out. I have been using Thunderbird 0.9 until now and are just about to start testing the new version 1.0 to see if there is any difference in behaviour.
Thanks for your help, Brett Carruthers
