This system is running courier-0.50 on redhat 9. Starting this week I began
seeing the following errors in maillog:
Dec 15 09:57:23 mail courieresmtpd:
error,relay=::ffff:68.230.241.34,from=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>,to=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
456 Address temporary unavailable.
There are about 200 local user accounts, some of which have an alias which
forwards to their home ISP accounts. I'm using the /etc/courier/aliases/aliases
file to define all the aliases. In some cases the relay destination is to a
rr.com address. Some other aliases to rr.com work fine, but a couple return the
above error.
aliases contains entries like:
dholdt: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
If I change the aliases entry to:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
then it delivers it locally.
Can I not redirect with an alias if there is a similarly named local account?
Is there something else I must consider?
