Hi everyone
I set about looking for every instance of fam on my system and
uninstalled them, to start from scratch.
I did a yum search for fam and removed these as well:
Erasing: fam-devel 1/2
Erasing: fam-devel 2/2
Erased: fam-devel 2.6.8-15.i386 fam-devel 2.6.8-15.x86_64
I suppose these were causing issues as well?
I'll reinstall fam now.
