I recently set up a Bigbluebutton conferencing server for a client and it
works quite reasonable.
It's free software and needs some installation work on a server, but it is a
lot of fun, when it's running!

There are some integration plugins for different CMS, so you can control access
to the conferences through Drupal or WordPress.

On http://bigbluebutton.org you can also create you own testconference. You
should give it a try!

Oh, and the client software is based on Flash, so it's not too proprietary.

cheers,
Markus
