Our original vision for Creative Space was artist focused, but as you said, there are a lot of unique issues to consider. One, artists are typically cash poor. This is a good and bad thing as a membership/shared space is more affordable than their own space, but even the small fees can be hard to scrap up.
The other issues is ventilation depending of materials used. (ventilation needed) so it may push us towards studio space as well.
