Matt - look forward to hearing about your thoughts and data regarding events.
This is 2011, so being 4 years later there could have been a shift but here's the 2011 2nd Deskmag Coworking Survey <http://www.deskmag.com/en/1st-results-of-the-3rd-global-coworking-survey-2012> - Coworking spaces earn the majority of their revenue on desks (61%) - 10% of their revenue from renting out meeting rooms and event spaces (10% each). - Food and beverages bring in 5%, - Sale of tickets to workshops and events earns another 5%. So if the effort investment (which is money, too) is 20% of your time netting 5% of your revenue, is that the best ROI? Everything we think of about coworking includes learning, formally and experiential so it stands to reason that we offer that within our spaces. Not to say everything we do has to have a price tag on it, but should we consider how events fulfill our mission, our community (if they're not coming, they're not connecting, in person at least), and the bottom line (and our personal mental status after organizing it).
