We were pretty likely all black then, I suspect. I don't know the history
of it very precisely, but I imagine only those who turned half-left as they
wondered out of the Nile Delta ever became pink, and that would have
occurred around 100000 years ago - or mebbe it was only the great die-off of
75000 years which allowed pigment differentiations to take hold across
populations according to geography at the time. So, arguably, you and
Andrej are both right, eh, Charles? We've probably all been black longer
than we've been any other shade.
