I take your points, Jim, but i do wonder about

perhaps its just my age, but I doubt I can follow such a wide portfolio. I am a 
reasonably up to date IT professional, for example, but i have never heard of 
Disqus, Quora or Medium.com. Looking now, I don’t know if I have the patience. 
Quora, for example, insists I choose 9 areas I am interested in, so that it can 
deluge me with dross…..
