I agree with your statement, but you also have to take into account the fact that Ed tossed a TON of money into it- - - if he'd put it into a more suitable drag platform in the first place he'd have spent a lot less for the same results. Plus, I was assuming that Fidel wants to beat the mustang and still be able to drive the car home. Ed's car is a track-only car.
