I've never used the purple ice stuff, but I had Redline water wetter in the
B16A (which I think is sold finally, so I'll be CRX-less shortly for the
first time in over SEVEN YEARS!!), and it took noticeably longer for the car
to warm up than usual, which I think is a pretty good indicator that it
worked. I honestly didn't test the temp or anything of the sort, but it also
ran lower on the temperature gauge than normal as well once fully warmed up.
Again, that might not be saying a whole lot, since I remember recalling from
somewhere way back on the list that the temp gauge heats up to a point and
then no higher before breaking the threshold where it goes past the halfway
point, but maybe the lower reading is a valid one. Either way, it sure
seemed to work just as advertised!

Lee,

I rarely have had heat issues with stock Hondas in the past since like you
said they run cool compared to other cars. My challenge is the shaved
head/higher compression on the D16Z6 is creating a hotter running motor than
stock which has lots of power during the first few minutes of running, then
slowly starts losing ponies as it warms up (radiator & coolant are new BTW).

Here in FL the heat factor is more dramatic in the summer so I'm willing to
try this stuff and see what happens. Little Beast is becoming very fun to
drive as I slowly chip away at each issue one by one (ignition, timing,
cooling, etc.).
