The faq doesn?t answer if this is a before release thing or not.

I?d rather hear from Valve if the scoreboard, team join screen, etc are going
to support more than 5v5 prior to release or not. Simple enough. Valve and
Hidden-Path have have made quite a few changes and whether or not this is a
prior release set of functionality or not seems questionable. A yes or no from
them, and only them, will suffice.

A) Yes but the beta will continue to be 5v5 for a period."

That's still not a definitive answer about when the support will arrive (just
"plans"). This is crucial information for anyone planning on running a pub
server, and not to mention map-makers (like me) who would like to know as soon
as possible whether 24+ players servers are going to be as popular as 5v5
matches.

An official word about when this support will arrive would be very much
appreciated.

They released the SDK, people are working on maps and whether the game is
going to support more than 5v5 at or prior to release is a relevant question
and your response didn?t answer it and the answer is you do not know.

Thus, the question to Valve. A simple yes or no from them will do.

uhhh obviously.... The game is in beta and is currently hard coded to allow
only 10 players per server. Dont get ahead of yourself, they just released the
servers to us.

Wait patiently for them to unlock the player #. They are gathering data
still. In due time they will they allow the full amount which appears to be
34...

As an aside, I took dust2 from CSS, got it working with GO (vmex, hammer,
remove unreferencable props, quickie hack) and the 5v5 team join screen stays
the same even though there are 40 spawn points as well as only 5 slots per team
for scoreboard (maxplayers at 40).

This is why I'm asking about support.

"Our maps currently only have 10 spawns but changing the value of
maxplayers
in gamemodes is correct" - ok, but supporting more than 5v5 requires
things
like a scoreboard that will show more than 5 players on a team, a team
join
menu that will allow more than 5 players on a team and so forth so
supporting more than 5v5 goes beyond spawn points. It's a simple question
really - will GO at release have working support such that server ops can
provide servers that actually can have more than 10 players.

I'm pretty sure most server ops and orgs want to know if this is going to
be
      the case.

Our maps currently only have 10 spawns but changing the value of
maxplayers
      in gamemodes is correct.

So, it would appear that 10 players - 5v5 scrimming - is all that works
no matter what I've tried for changing max players in gamemodes.txt and command
line.

Thus the question to Valve is - "you are going to have more than 5v5
configurable and playable for GO, aren't you?"
