If you REALLY want to save money you can fly to Delhi (India) for R2000 return (via Qatar airlines), buy the latest IT books (they get them before SA does) for about R30 - R50 each (I kid you not) and post them via their post office to South Africa.
I went there last December and came home with 15 of the latest IT books (including the great Head First books) for R700. What was really amazing is the sheer QUANTITY of books they have available in the bookstores! Exclusive has a little rack or two whereas these guys have a room full of books! I was only limited by the fact that I couldn't carry all the books I wanted home and I was too lazy to stand in the post office queue and send them home. Oh. There is the Delhi smog (the worst in the world) but once you see all those Java books you feel like a kid in a candy store! ;) -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] on behalf of Jeff Mutonho Sent: Fri 10/6/2006 10:16 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [CTJUG Forum] Re: Custom duty on books On 10/6/06, Antoine Fortuine <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > Yep.
