We don't charge a fee to reserve books, and we try to limit reserves to 4.  I would agree with those who recommend a policy change.

What does your library do about reserves or holds when a patron asks for many (14 or 15) and then looks them over & chooses only one or two to check out?

Do you charge a small fee (25 cents or so) to reserve a book, and does this stop the overzealous users?

One of our librarians wants to know. Her staff has been feeling frustrated lately with patrons who seem to be abusing this service.

Thanks for your comments.

Laurie
