Whew! OK, I think the homeschool group idea is going to work out! Last Friday we had an organizational meeting and we started regular weekly meetings this morning. There were nine families -- 31 total including the parents and a couple of young ones. Instead of having one parent be the leader and having the power struggles that sometimes occur, it was decided that I would be the facilitator of the group and plan programs and activities for them. It's really not that different from any of the children's or teen programs we're doing already. Today we did an activity on library skills -- including a "scavenger"-type hunt where they found books and library information. What will we do next week? I haven't a clue yet, but I have a week to plan! Anyhow, thanks for all of the input and ideas and wish us luck.
