In Wimberley, there are two collection items that do not require a library
card. These are paper back books and use of the patron access computers.
We have bar coded "sticks" that we scan and give to a patron to hold onto
when using a computer. Each computer has a bar code so we can keep track of
circulation of all computer check outs as well as each computer.

Subject: [ctls-l] Computer sign in question

I am wondering how many libraries have policies that require their patrons
to have a library card to use the computer? If not, do you just require a
sign in sheet or how to do service out-of-town patrons that are just
stopping by to use the computer?

Currently, Hewitt Public Library does not require a library card to use the
computers.
